Maureens Slaw
Ingredients
- 1 medium head of cabbage chopped fine
- 1 12 to 2 Tbsp salt
- 34 c sugar 1 c sugar
- 34 c cider vinegar plus 14 c water
- 1 tsp celery salt 1 Tbsp celery salt
- 1 green pepper chopped fine 2 green 1 red pepper
- 1 large onion chopped fine
- 2 celery stalks chopped fine 12 stalk celery chopped fine
- 2 carrots chopped fine 4 carrots
- 3 large cloves garlic 1 12 heaping Tbsp minced garlic
Directions
- Shred the cabbage extra fine in a bowl and sprinkle the salt over it
- Cover and refrigerate for a minimum of one hour
- Place the sugar cider vinegar celery salt and the pressed garlic in a saucepan
- Boil the mixture for a few minutes and set aside to cool
