MayS Bread And Butter Pickles

Ingredients

• 4 qt sliced medium cukes
• 6 medium white onions sliced
• 3 cloves garlic
• 13 c coarse salt
• 5 c sugar
• 3 c vinegar
• 1 12 tsp turmeric
• 1 12 tsp celery seed
• 2 Tbsp mustard seed

Directions

1. Do not peel cucumbers slice thin
2. Add onions and garlic cloves
3. Add salt
4. Cover with cracked ice mix thoroughly
5. Let stand 3 hours or overnight drain well
6. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over cucumber mixture
7. Heat just until boiling
8. Seal in hot jars
9. Makes 8 pints
