MazellS Caramel Icing

Ingredients

  • 1 c milk
  • 3 c granulated sugar
  • 1 stick butter or margarine

Directions

  1. Add 1 cup milk and 2 34 cups sugar in a large boiler
  2. Bring this to a rolling boil
  3. In a small skillet caramelize 14 cup sugar
  4. Pour into milk and sugar mix
  5. Boil stirring constantly until thick
  6. Pour into mixing bowl with margarine
  7. Beat well If too thick to spread easily add milk 1 teaspoon at a time until right consistency
  8. Spread evenly over cake layers
