Meadowbrook Farm Traditional New YearS Day Dinner
Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh pork cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 tsp salt
- 14 tsp pepper
- 2 Tbsp fat
- 12 c water
- 1 No 2 12 can sauerkraut
- 1 apple pared and cored
- 1 onion chopped
- 4 dumplings
Directions
- Season pork cubes with salt and pepper
- Brown in fat in large heavy saucepan
- Combine water sauerkraut apple and onion add to pork
- Simmer 40 minutes
- Place dumplings on top of sauerkraut
- Cover pan steam until done
- Lift dumplings onto plate
- Place sauerkraut in deep dish or platter
- Cover with pork cubes top with dumplings
