Meat Cabbage Casserole

Ingredients

  • 2 lb shredded cabbage
  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 12 tsp sugar
  • 12 tsp salt
  • 1 lb meat loaf mixture or ground beef
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp flour
  • 1 egg
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 c milk

Directions

  1. Melt 3 tablespoons of butter or margarine in a large Dutch oven
  2. Add cabbage
  3. Cook stirring until wilted
  4. Add the soy sauce
  5. Cover and cook for 15 minutes
  6. Add the 12 teaspoon salt and sugar
  7. Mix together by hand the meat loaf mixture or ground beef 1 teaspoon salt the flour egg pepper chopped onion and milk
  8. In a 2-quart baking dish alternate layers of cabbage meat cabbage meat and ending with cabbage
  9. Dot with butter Bake at 350 for 1 hour uncovered
