Meatball Vegetable Bake
Ingredients
- 1 12 lb ground beef
- 1 slightly beaten egg
- 1 c soft bread crumbs
- 14 c milk
- 2 Tbsp dry onion soup mix
- dash of pepper
- 2 Tbsp salad oil
- 1 1 lb can tomatoes
- 1 c boiling water
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- 14 c cold water
- 2 Tbsp cornstarch
- 1 12 c sliced carrots
- 2 medium onions quartered
- 1 c sliced celery
Directions
- Combine meat bread crumbs milk soup mix and pepper
- Shape into balls
- Brown in hot oil in large skillet
- Remove meatballs and drain off excess fat
- Add tomatoes
- Dissolve bouillon cube in boiling water
- Add
- 14 cup cold water and cornstarch and add this slowly to the mixture until it thickens
- Add
- meatballs carrots onion and celery
- Cover and simmer slowly until vegetables are tender or pour into 2-quart casserole and cover and bake at 350 for 1 hour
