Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 14 c coarse bread crumbs
  • 12 tsp salt
  • 14 tsp pepper
  • 1 c catsup
  • 1 c water
  • 12 c gingersnap crumbs
  • 14 c brown sugar firmly packed
  • 12 tsp salt
  • 1 8 oz can sauerkraut

Directions

  1. Mix together meat egg bread crumbs salt and pepper
  2. Shape into 1-inch balls
  3. Simmer catsup water and cookie crumbs for 5 minutes
  4. Add brown sugar salt and sauerkraut
  5. Heat to boiling Add meatballs lower heat and simmer for 45 minutes
  6. Serves 4 to 6
