Meatless Mexican Beans

Ingredients

  • 12 to 14 oz small red beans
  • water
  • 13 pkg chili mix
  • 2 cloves garlic chopped
  • 1 medium size onion
  • salt
  • 5 to 6 dashes mesquite liquid smoke
  • hot Louisiana sauce optional

Directions

  1. Cover beans with water plus 2 inches more
  2. Soak beans 10 to 12 hours
  3. Put in slow cooker
  4. Add water to cover beans plus 2 inches more and add chili mix garlic and onion
  5. After 4 to 5 hours cooking add liquid smoke and hot sauce
  6. When beans are done add salt
  7. Do not heat beans in microwave as they get hard
