MelS Beer Cheese Soup
Ingredients
- 12 c butter
- 1 c flour
- 5 c canned chicken broth heated
- 2 pt whipping cream
- 2 jars Cheez Whiz
- 1 can beer cooking takes the alcohol out of but no alcohol beer works just as well
- 4 Tbsp Worcestershire
Directions
- In a large heavy Dutch oven melt the butter Mix in flour until smooth
- Cook 5 minutes stirring constantly over medium heat
- Blend in the hot chicken broth with wire whip
- Add the cheese and stir until blended
- Pour in whipping cream Incorporate well
- Add Worcestershire and beer
- Cook over low heat stirring until thick and smooth 15 to 20 minutes
- Serve with croutons bits of ham freeze dried chives or a sprinkling of parsley
