Meltaway Chocolate BrowniesMakes 16 Brownies

Ingredients

  • 12 c sugar
  • 14 c undiluted Carnation evaporated milk
  • 14 c butter or margarine
  • 1 pkg eight 1 oz blocks Hersheys semi-sweet chocolate
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 34 c unsifted flour
  • 14 tsp baking soda
  • 14 tsp salt
  • 34 c finely chopped nuts optional

Directions

  1. Combine sugar evaporated milk and butter in saucepan
  2. Cook over medium heat stirring occasionally until mixture reaches a full boil
  3. Remove from heat add semi-sweet chocolate broken into pieces stirring until melted
  4. Beat in eggs and vanilla
  5. Add flour baking soda and salt mix until smooth
  6. Blend in nuts Pour into buttered 9-inch square pan
  7. Bake at 325 for 30 to 35 minutes or until brownie begins to pull away from sides of pan Cool frost if desired
  8. Cut into squares
