MeringueThat DoesnT Weep
Ingredients
- 12 c cold water
- 1 Tbsp cornstarch
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 18 tsp salt
- 3 egg whites
- 4 Tbsp sugar
Directions
- Combine in a small saucepan dry ingredients and water over medium heat stirring constantly until thick and clear
- Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form by gradually adding 4 tablespoons sugar beating well
- Slowly add cooled cooked cornstarch mixture beating until stiff glossy peaks form
- Spread meringue evenly to edge of pie crust to seal all around
- Bake in 350 oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until meringue is golden
