Ingredients
- 1 c Northern beans dried
- 2 qt water
- 1 small ham hock 12 lb
- 12 lb beef short ribs or 1 pkg stew meat
- 2 potatoes
- 1 pkg frozen turnip greens or collard greens fresh is good too
- 12 chopped onion
- 12 chopped green pepper bell that is
- 3 Italian sausages skins removed
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp salt
Directions
- Soak beans overnight
- In a large pot put the water ham hock short ribs bay leaf and salt
- Boil
- Skim foam simmer and cook for 30 minutes
- Add beans and cook until tender
