Methodist Slaw

Ingredients

  • 3 medium heads shredded cabbage
  • 1 Tbsp salt
  • 4 c sugar
  • 2 c vinegar
  • 1 c water
  • 3 green peppers
  • 1 Tbsp mustard seed
  • 1 bunch celery and leaves chopped
  • 1 tsp celery seed
  • 1 c shredded carrots

Directions

  1. Add cabbage and salt and let stand for 2 hours
  2. Boil sugar vinegar and water for 5 minutes and let cool
  3. Squeeze cabbage dry and add remaining ingredients
  4. Mix and refrigerate
  5. Will keep for 6 weeks
