Mexican Cornbread With Meat

Ingredients

  • 1 c milk
  • 1 12 c cornmeal
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 13 c oil
  • 1 can cream-style corn
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 12 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 12 c grated cheese
  • 2 or 3 jalapeno peppers

Directions

  1. Brown ground beef and drain
  2. Chop onion and peppers
  3. Mix first seven ingredients and pour half into greased 9 x 9-inch pan or iron skillet
  4. Layer meat then onion and peppers and then cheese
  5. Pour remainder of batter on top
  6. Bake at 350 for 50 or 60 minutes or until top is golden brown
