Microwave Ruby Red Strawberry Pie

Ingredients

• 34 c sugar
• 3 Tbsp cornstarch
• 12 c water
• 1 10 oz pkg frozen sliced strawberries thawed
• 1 qt fresh strawberries washed and hulled
• 1 9-inch baked pastry shell
• whipped cream if desired

Directions

1. Combine sugar cornstarch and water in a large glass mixing bowl until smooth Stir in frozen strawberries and juice Microwave for 2 minutes on High Stir and continue cooking for 2 to 5 minutes on High or until thickened
2. Cool
3. Fold whole strawberries into glaze mixture
4. Pour into baked pastry shell Chill Serve with whipped cream
5. Makes a 9-inch pie
