Midwestern Scalloped Corn And Sausage Casserole
Ingredients
- 14 tsp salt
- pinch of black pepper
- 2 medium fresh tomatoes sliced
- 12 c grated Cheddar cheese
- 34 lb pork sausage
- 3 Tbsp flour
- 1 14 c milk
- 1 12 c whole kernel corn drained
Directions
- Brown sausage drain off all fat except about 2 tablespoons Add flour and stir until blended then add milk and stir until mixture boils and thickens
- Add corn salt and pepper to mixture Place into shallow casserole
- Arrange thick slices of tomato over the top of sausage and corn mixture
- Top with grated cheese Place under broiler for 4 to 5 minutes until tomatoes are cooked and cheese is melted
- Yields 4 servings
