Mile High Biscuits
Ingredients
- 3 c flour
- 14 c sugar
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 12 tsp cream of tartar
- 34 tsp salt
- 12 c shortening
- 1 egg slightly beaten
- 1 c plus 2 Tbsp milk
Directions
- Combine flour sugar baking powder cream of tartar and salt in bowl
- Cut in shortening until crumbly
- Stir in egg and milk mixing to form soft dough
- Knead lightly on floured surface Roll to 34 inch thickness
- Cut with biscuit cutter
- Place on baking sheet
- Bake at 475 for 12 to 15 minutes or until light brown
- Yields 12 biscuits
