MomS Christmas Torte
Ingredients
- 1 pkg yeast dissolved in 2 Tbsp water
- 4 c all-purpose flour
- 14 c sugar
- 14 tsp salt
- 3 sticks butter
- 1 c sour cream
- 4 eggs divided
- apricot jam
- raspberry jam
- 1 pkg cream cheese
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 14 c sugar
- 1 egg
Directions
- Mix together flour salt and sugar with pastry blender
- I use a fork it works just as well
- Cut in butter as you would if you were making pie crust
- Add sour cream and four egg yolks Mix in
- Add yeast and mix again
- After it is completely mixed knead dough on a floured surface until smooth
- Divide dough into four equal parts
- Wrap in plastic and refrigerate overnight Thirty minutes before baking remove dough from refrigerator
- Cut each piece into two
- Roll out into the size of a loaf pan
