MomS Dumplings For Chicken And Dumplings
Ingredients
- 12 heaping spoons flour the big spoons you serve vegetables with
- 1 12 tsp salt
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 heaping spoon Crisco shortening use same spoon used for flour
Directions
- Sift together flour salt and baking powder
- Cut in Crisco shortening
- Stir in just enough milk to make a real thick sticky dough
- Roll out pretty thin on a floured surface
- Cut into squares
- Drop into boiling broth
- Scatter your droppings so they dont all goo up
- You can judge this by dropping according to where the boiling bubbles are
- Cook about 20 minutes
- DO NOT STIR TOO MUCH just enough to keep the dumplings from sticking to the bottom otherwise you will break up the dumplings
- Thicken broth with a mixture of flour and milk to desired consistency
