MomS Hot Cake

Ingredients

• 2 c sugar
• 1 c butter
• 1 c buttermilk or half and half
• 2 eggs
• 3 c flour
• 3 tsp baking powder
• pinch of salt
• 1 tsp vanilla

Directions

1. Cream shortening and sugar together
2. Add eggs and dry ingredients alternately with milk
3. Stir in vanilla
4. Bake at 350 until straw comes clean
5. Serve with a hot caramel sauce
