Monterey Burger Melt

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 11 18 oz can condensed Italian tomato soup
  • 13 c water
  • 4 thick slices Monterey Jack cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns split and toasted

Directions

  1. Shape beef into 4 patties
  2. In a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat cook patties until browned on both sides Remove Set aside Spoon off fat
  3. In same skillet stir in soup and water
  4. Heat to boiling Return patties to skillet Reduce heat to low Cover and cook 10 minutes or until done stirring occasionally Top patties with cheese
  5. Heat uncovered until cheese is just melted
  6. Serve on buns
