Mrs LynchS Old Country Cake
Ingredients
- 4 12 c all-purpose flour
- pinch of salt
- 12 c butter or margarine
- 2 eggs beaten
- 1 c milk
- 4 12 tsp baking powder
- 34 c sugar
- 1 c raisins soaked in boiling water for 12 minute then drained
- 1 Tbsp caraway seed
Directions
- Mix and sift dry ingredients
- Cut in shortening with 2 knives
- Add beaten eggs
- Stir in raisins and seed
- Add milk stir
- Spread into a 9 x 13-inch greased and floured pan or use cooking oil spray
- Bake for 45 to 50 minutes at 375
- Can also use 3 small 6-inch round pans and bake for 35 minutes
