Mushroom Turnovers

Ingredients

  • 12 lb fresh mushrooms finely chopped
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 12 c chopped onion
  • 12 tsp salt
  • dash of pepper
  • dash of ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp flour
  • 12 c sour cream
  • 1 tsp dill weed
  • 1 recipe Cream Cheese Pastry

Directions

  1. Saute mushrooms in butter with the onion until limp
  2. Add salt pepper nutmeg and lemon juice
  3. Blend in flour until smooth and slightly thickened
  4. Stir in sour cream and dill weed
  5. Cool filling
  6. Place small amount of filling scant teaspoon on one side of 2-inch pastry round
  7. Fold over and crimp edges with fork tines
  8. Bake 20 to 25 minutes in a 350
  9. oven
  10. These freeze well before baking
