My Favorite Apple Pie

Ingredients

  • 2 12 lb tart apples peeled and sliced 8 c
  • 1 12 c light brown sugar
  • 14 c all-purpose flour
  • 12 stick butter or margarine melted
  • 12 tsp apple pie spice
  • 1 c apple juice

Directions

  1. Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl
  2. Add apples mix well Line a 10 or 12-inch baking dish with pastry add apple mixture Pour apple juice around edge not on apples
  3. Cover with top pastry sealing edges
  4. Cut slits in top
  5. Brush with margarine sprinkle with white sugar
  6. Bake at 425 for 40 minutes or until juice bubbles through slits
  7. This is a deep-dish pie
  8. Pan must be at least two inches deep
