My Favorite Pound Cake

Ingredients
- 3 c sugar
- 2 sticks butter or margarine
- 12 c shortening or oil
- 5 eggs
- 3 c flour
- 14 tsp salt
- 12 tsp baking powder
- 1 c milk
- 2 tsp lemon extract
- 1 overflowing tsp vanilla
Directions
- Have all ingredients at room temperature
- Cream sugar butter and shortening
- Beat in eggs one at a time
- Add flour salt and baking powder alternately with milk lemon extract and vanilla
- Beat well
- Pour into greased and floured tube pan Bake at 325 for 1 hour and 15 minutes
- Cool for 15 minutes in pan
- Turn out on rack to finish cooling
