My MomS Crumb Cake

Ingredients

• 2 12 c flour
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 12 tsp allspice
• 2 c brown sugar firmly packed
• 12 c shortening
• 1 c buttermilk
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1 tsp soda

Directions

1. Sift together flour salt cinnamon and allspice
2. Stir in brown sugar
3. Mix shortening in with dough blender until coarse meal
4. Reserve 12 cup mixture for topping
5. Stir in buttermilk vanilla and soda mix soda with a little warm water in measuring cup that buttermilk was in
6. Spread in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan sprinkle with reserved topping on top and also sprinkle on cinnamon
7. Bake at 375 for 20 to 25 minutes
