Nanaimo BarsMakes 16 Bars
Ingredients
- 2 c graham cracker crumbs
- 1 c flaked coconut
- 12 c chopped walnuts
- 12 c butter or margarine
- 14 c granulated sugar
- 3 Tbsp cocoa
- 1 egg beaten
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 14 c soft butter or margarine
- 2 c powdered sugar
- 2 Tbsp hot water
- 23 c semi-sweet chocolate morsels
Directions
- Measure crumbs coconut and nuts into a bowl
- Blend and reserve
- Heat butter and 14 cup granulated sugar in small saucepan until butter is melted
- Stir in cocoa
- Mixture should be smooth and sugar dissolved
- Blend in egg and vanilla mixing well
- Combine mixture with crumb mixture
- Turn into a lightly oiled 8-inch cake pan
- Press firmly to make a smooth surface Place in freezer while preparing next layer
