Navajo Fry Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 c white flour
  • 12 c whole wheat flour
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 12 tsp baking powder
  • 14 tsp salt
  • 12 c honey
  • vegetable oil for frying

Directions

  1. Mix dry ingredients and add waterenough a little at a time till you have a stiff dough mix well
  2. Knead dough on a floured board till it becomes elastic
  3. Let dough rise 10 minutes covered
  4. Roll out dough till it is 12 inches thick
  5. Cut into squares or circles
  6. Deep fry at 370 till golden brown
  7. Drain on paper towels and drizzle with honey
