Never Fail Meringue

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 12 Tbsp vanilla
  • 3 egg whites
  • 18 Tbsp salt
  • 4 Tbsp sugar

Directions

  1. Combine 2 teaspoons sugar and 1 tablespoon cornstarch in saucepan
  2. Add 12 cup water
  3. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until thick and clear
  4. Cool
  5. Beat egg whites with salt and vanilla until soft peaks form
  6. Add 4 tablespoons sugar after adding cornstarch mixture
  7. Beat until it stands in stiff peaks
  8. Spread on pie
  9. Bake for 10 minutes at 350
