Never Fail Pastry
Ingredients
- 12 c soft butter
- 23 c soft shortening Crisco
- 1 12 tsp salt
- 3 Tbsp granulated sugar
- 3 13 c sifted flour
- 13 c cold water
Directions
- In large bowl with fork beat butter and sugar until creamy then blend this mixture with soft shortening
- Combine flour and salt with fork blend with butter mixture
- Gradually stir in water until mixture cleans sides of bowl
- On lightly floured surface knead dough until just well mixed
- Chill
- Divide into thirds and roll out crusts
- Bake at 450 for 13 to 15 minutes or until golden brown
