New And Safe Eggnog
Ingredients
- 1 qt low-fat milk
- 6 eggs
- 18 tsp salt
- 12 c sugar
- 12 tsp nutmeg
- 1 12 tsp vanilla
- 1 c heavy cream whipped
Directions
- Heat milk in saucepan
- Do not boil
- Beat eggs in boil
- Add salt gradually beat in sugar Beat 1 cup of hot milk in egg mixture
- Then add egg mixture to remaining hot milk mixture in saucepan Beat constantly
- Cook over low heat stirring constantly until thickens and 160 on candy thermometer
- Stir in 12 teaspoon nutmeg and vanilla
- Place saucepan in large bowl of ice for 12 minutes
- Cover and refrigerate 24 hours
