New England Chuck RoastCrockery Cooking
Ingredients
- 3 lb beef chuck
- 14 tsp basil
- 2 quartered onions
- 1 stalk celery cut in 8 pieces
- 2 Tbsp vinegar
- 1 small cabbage cut in 6 wedges or 1 large turnip cut in quarters
- 1 Tbsp salt
- pepper to taste
- 4 quartered carrots
- 1 bay leaf
- 5 c water
Directions
- Sprinkle meat with salt pepper and basil
- Place vegetables in crock-pot put meat on top
- Add bay leaf vinegar and water Cover pot and cook 6 to 8 hours or until tender
- Remove meat Turn to high heat and add cabbage or turnip
- Cook 20 minutes cook meat at low temperature
