New England Style Clam Chowder

Ingredients

  • 3 cans minced clams
  • 1 stick butter
  • 12 c celery diced
  • 2 cans evaporated milk
  • 2 small cartons half and half
  • 2 medium potatoes diced
  • 3 cans cream of potato soup
  • 6 dashes black pepper
  • 4 dashes Texas Pete
  • 1 medium onion diced

Directions

  1. Saute onion celery and potato in butter
  2. Add clams and juice
  3. Simmer for 15 minutes
  4. Add potato soup
  5. Simmer for 1 hour stir often
  6. Do not boil Add evaporated milk and half and half
  7. Bring to a high simmer without boiling
  8. Add pepper and Texas Pete
  9. Serve hot
  10. Serves 8
  11. Freezes well
