New Orleans Pralines

Ingredients

  • 1 lb dark brown sugar
  • 1 c sugar
  • 34 c whole milk
  • 12 tsp salt
  • 34 c whole pecans
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 12 tsp vanilla
  • 4 c Quaker oats quick or old-fashioned uncooked
  • 1 12 c chopped peanuts walnuts or pecans
  • 1 c firmly packed brown sugar
  • 34 c butter or margarine melted
  • 12 c honey or corn syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients mix well
  2. Press firmly into well-greased 15 12 x 10 12-inch jelly roll pan
  3. Bake in preheated very hot oven 450 for about 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown
  4. Mixture will be golden brown and bubbly
  5. Cool thoroughly
  6. Cut into bars
  7. Makes 15 12 x 10 12-inch pan of bars
