New Orleans Pralines
Ingredients
- 1 lb dark brown sugar
- 1 c sugar
- 34 c whole milk
- 12 tsp salt
- 34 c whole pecans
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 12 tsp vanilla
- 4 c Quaker oats quick or old-fashioned uncooked
- 1 12 c chopped peanuts walnuts or pecans
- 1 c firmly packed brown sugar
- 34 c butter or margarine melted
- 12 c honey or corn syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp salt
Directions
- Combine all ingredients mix well
- Press firmly into well-greased 15 12 x 10 12-inch jelly roll pan
- Bake in preheated very hot oven 450 for about 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown
- Mixture will be golden brown and bubbly
- Cool thoroughly
- Cut into bars
- Makes 15 12 x 10 12-inch pan of bars
