Nut Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 c butter softened
  • 2 c sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 12 c self-rising flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 c chopped pecans
  • 1 c chopped black walnuts
  • 1 12 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 large apple peeled and chopped

Directions

  1. Cream butter and sugar in mixer bowl until light and fluffy Add eggs 2 at a time beating well after each addition
  2. Add self-rising flour mix well
  3. Stir in vanilla
  4. Combine pecans walnuts and all-purpose flour in bowl toss to coat
  5. Fold into batter
  6. Stir in apples
  7. Pour into ungreased tube pan
  8. Bake at 300 for 1 14 hours
  9. Cool in pan for several minutes
  10. Invert onto serving plate
  11. Yield
  12. 16 servings
