Nutty Tuna-Noodle Bake

Ingredients

  • 3 c medium noodles
  • 2 Tbsp butter or margarine
  • 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 13 c milk
  • 1 10 34 oz can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 34 c shredded American cheese 3 oz
  • 1 12 12 oz can tuna drained and flaked
  • 1 8 oz can peas and carrots drained
  • 2 Tbsp chopped pimiento
  • 12 c chopped peanuts

Directions

  1. Cook noodles according to package directions drain well Meanwhile in saucepan melt the butter or margarine stir in flour
  2. Add the milk and soup all at once
  3. Cook until mixture is thickened and bubbly
  4. Remove the soup mixture from heat stir in American cheese until melted
  5. Stir in tuna peas and carrots and pimiento into soup mixture
  6. Fold in noodles
  7. Turn the soup-tuna mixture into a 2-quart casserole
  8. Sprinkle the chopped peanuts atop
  9. Bake uncovered in a 350 oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until mixture is heated through
  10. Makes 6 servings
