Old-Fashion Herb Stuffing
Ingredients
- 6 pieces wheat rye or white bread cut into 12 inch cubes
- 1 Tbsp margarine or butter
- 1 c chopped onions
- 12 c thinly sliced celery
- 12 c thinly sliced carrots
- 1 c chicken broth
- 1 Tbsp chopped fresh thyme or 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 Tbsp chopped sage or 1 tsp dried sage
- 12 tsp paprika
- 14 tsp black pepper
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350
- Place bread cubes on baking sheet bake 10 minutes or until dry
- Melt margarine in large saucepan over medium heat
- Add onions celery and carrot cover and cook 10 minutes or until vegetables are tender
- Add broth thyme sage paprika and pepper bring to a simmer
- Stir in bread pieces mix well
- Remove pan from heat set aside
- Coat a 1-12 quart baking dish with nonstick cooking spray
- Spoon stuffing into dish
- Cover and bake 25 to 30 minutes or until heated through
- Serves 4
