Old-Fashion Herb Stuffing

Ingredients

  • 6 pieces wheat rye or white bread cut into 12 inch cubes
  • 1 Tbsp margarine or butter
  • 1 c chopped onions
  • 12 c thinly sliced celery
  • 12 c thinly sliced carrots
  • 1 c chicken broth
  • 1 Tbsp chopped fresh thyme or 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 Tbsp chopped sage or 1 tsp dried sage
  • 12 tsp paprika
  • 14 tsp black pepper

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Place bread cubes on baking sheet bake 10 minutes or until dry
  3. Melt margarine in large saucepan over medium heat
  4. Add onions celery and carrot cover and cook 10 minutes or until vegetables are tender
  5. Add broth thyme sage paprika and pepper bring to a simmer
  6. Stir in bread pieces mix well
  7. Remove pan from heat set aside
  8. Coat a 1-12 quart baking dish with nonstick cooking spray
  9. Spoon stuffing into dish
  10. Cover and bake 25 to 30 minutes or until heated through
  11. Serves 4
