Old-Fashioned Bread Stuffing

Ingredients

  • 1 12 c chopped onion
  • 1 12 c chopped celery
  • 12 c margarine or butter
  • 1 tsp poultry seasoning
  • 1 tsp rubbed sage
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 12 c water or broth
  • 8 c dried bread cubes 10 to 12 bread slices cubed and dried overnight
  • dash of ground black pepper

Directions

  1. Cook and stir onion and celery in margarine in medium skillet over medium heat until tender
  2. Stir in seasonings
  3. Add onion mixture and add water or broth to bread cubes in large bowl
  4. Toss to mix
