Old-Fashioned Gingersnaps

Ingredients

  • 2 14 c flour
  • 12 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 14 tsp salt
  • 13 c shortening
  • 1 egg well beaten
  • 12 c light molasses
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp hot water
  • 34 c sugar

Directions

  1. Sift flour cinnamon and salt set aside
  2. Cream shortening and sugar until light
  3. Add eggs and molasses
  4. Dissolve soda in hot water and add to creamed mixture
  5. Stir in dry ingredients and chill for easier handling
  6. Roll into balls tablespoon
  7. Place on a greased sheet
  8. Bake at 350 for 10 to 12 minutes
