Old-Fashioned Gingersnaps
Ingredients
- 2 14 c flour
- 12 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp ginger
- 14 tsp salt
- 13 c shortening
- 1 egg well beaten
- 12 c light molasses
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp hot water
- 34 c sugar
Directions
- Sift flour cinnamon and salt set aside
- Cream shortening and sugar until light
- Add eggs and molasses
- Dissolve soda in hot water and add to creamed mixture
- Stir in dry ingredients and chill for easier handling
- Roll into balls tablespoon
- Place on a greased sheet
- Bake at 350 for 10 to 12 minutes
