Old-Fashioned Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

• 12 c butter or margarine
• 1 c sugar
• 1 egg or 2 egg yolks well beaten
• 12 tsp vanilla
• 1 12 c sifted all-purpose flour
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 14 tsp salt

Directions

1. Cream butter or margarine
2. Beat in 1 cup of sugar egg and vanilla
3. Sift flour baking powder and salt together
4. Add to butter mixture
5. Mix well
6. Cover and refrigerate 3 to 4 hours or until dough is firm
