Old-Fashioned Tea CakesQuick And Easy Version

Ingredients

  • 1 34 c sugar
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 2 eggs slightly beaten
  • 34 c oil
  • 4 c Gold Medal all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Cream sugar and margarine until light and fluffy
  2. Add eggs and beat well
  3. Add remaining ingredients and mix well
  4. Drop dough about the size of a walnut onto ungreased cookie sheet
  5. Press flat with the bottom of a glass that has been coated with sugar Dampen bottom of a glass so sugar will stick to it better
  6. If you use a glass that has a design on the bottom your cookies will have a pretty design on them
  7. Bake at 350 for 10 to 11 minutes or until lightly brown
