Old-Time Tea Cakes

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 12 c margarine
  • 12 c molasses
  • 12 c sugar
  • 12 tsp nutmeg
  • 12 tsp baking soda
  • 2 12 c flour

Directions

  1. Break eggs into mixing bowl
  2. Add margarine molasses sugar nutmeg and baking soda
  3. Cream thoroughly
  4. Work in flour Transfer dough to a well floured board and knead until it is pliable
  5. Roll out and cut with biscuit cutter
  6. Bake at 400 until light brown
  7. Yields 3 dozen tea cakes
