Old Fashion Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

• 1 c sugar
• 12 tsp salt
• 1 egg
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 2 12 c flour
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 34 c butter or margarine

Directions

1. Cream sugar salt and butter or margarine thoroughly
2. Beat egg and extract into creamed mixture until light and fluffy
3. Sift together flour and baking powder
4. Gradually stir into creamed ingredients
5. Roll dough 18-inch thick on floured board
6. Cut into fancy shapes
7. Place on ungreased cookie sheets
8. Sprinkle with sugar
9. Bake at 350 for 9 to 10 minutes or until light brown around edges
10. Remove to cool
11. Store in airtight container Yield about 5 dozen cookies
