Old Fashioned Cocoa Fudge

Ingredients

  • 6 cups sugar
  • 1 cup Hersheys cocoa
  • 14 tsp salt
  • 1 12 oz can evaporated milk
  • 1 12 cup regular milk
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 2 tsp vanilla

Directions

  1. Butter a 9 x 13 pan
  2. Set aside
  3. Mix cocoa sugar and salt in a large heavy pan
  4. Stir in both milks
  5. Cook over med heat stirring constantly until mixture comes to full boil
  6. Boil without stirring until mixture reaches a soft ball stage 234 on candy thermometer
  7. Remove from heat add vanilla and butter but DO NOT STIR
  8. Allow to cool until lukewarm about 110
  9. Beat with wooden spoon until fudge thickens
  10. Spread quickly into buttered pan Cool completely
  11. Cut into squares
