Old Fashioned Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients

• 34 c shortening
• 1 12 c dark brown sugar
• 1 12 c flour
• 12 tsp salt
• 12 tsp baking soda
• 3 c oatmeal
• 38 c sour milk
• 12 tsp vanilla

Directions

1. Cream the shortening and sugar thoroughly
2. Sift together the flour salt and soda
3. Combine with oatmeal
4. Add to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk
5. Stir in the vanilla
6. Roll out to 18-inch thickness on floured board
7. Cut into 2 12-inch circles with floured cookie cutter
8. Bake on greased cookie sheet in 375 oven for about 10 minutes
9. Makes 5 dozen
