Old Fashioned Pound Cake

Ingredients
- 12 c sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 c shortening
- 6 large eggs
- 2 c all-purpose flour
Directions
- Cream sugar vanilla and shortening until fluffy
- Add eggs alternately with flour
- Beat until well blended
- Pour into well-greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3 12-inch loaf pan
- Bake at 325 for 1 12 hours or until center is done
- Cool about 10 minutes on wire rack
- Remove from pan and cool completely Lemon flavoring or other flavoring may be substituted
