Ole Timey Tea Cakes

Ingredients

  • 3 c plain flour
  • 1 c white sugar
  • 1 c shortening
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 14 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 12 c sweet milk

Directions

  1. Put all ingredients in a mixing bowl as listed
  2. Mix with a wooden spoon
  3. Roll out on floured board thin
  4. Cut with any size cutter
  5. Place on a flat cookie sheet and bake 10 to 12 minutes at 400
  6. Bake only until tops are light brown
  7. Best stored in a flour
  8. sack or pillow case if you can keep the kids out
