Onion Shortbread
Ingredients
- 2 large onions sliced thin
- 12 c 1 stick butter or margarine
- 1 8 oz container sour cream
- 12 tsp dried dill weed
- 14 tsp salt
- 8 oz 1 c Cheddar cheese grated
- 1 15 oz can creamed corn
- 13 c milk
- 1 8 12 oz pkg corn muffin mix Jiffy mix
- 4 drops hot red pepper sauce or to taste
Directions
- Saute onion in butter
- Stir in sour cream dill weed salt and half the Cheddar cheese 12 cup
- In a separate bowl combine corn milk dry muffin mix egg and hot pepper sauce
- Put corn mixture in a buttered 9 x 13-inch dish
- Spread onion mixture over top
- Top with remaining Cheddar cheese
- Bake in a 425 oven for 30 to 40 minutes
- Serves 8 to 10
