Onions Au Gratin
Ingredients
- 6 medium yellow onions
- 12 c beef broth low salt
- 2 Tbsp flour
- 18 tsp pepper
- 14 c butter or margarine
- 12 c whipping cream
- 12 c Swiss cheese shredded
- 12 c grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
- Slice onions into 12-inch thick rings
- Saut in butter until tender
- Place in greased 8-inch square baking dish
- In a bowl stir the broth cream flour and pepper until smooth
- Pour over onions
- Sprinkle with the cheeses
- Bake uncovered at 350 for approximately 30 minutes or until cheese is golden brown and mixture is bubbly
- Makes approximately 8 servings
