Orange-Date-Nut Cake

Ingredients

• 1 c butter
• 2 c sugar
• 4 eggs
• 4 c flour
• 1 tsp soda
• 12 tsp salt
• 1 12 c buttermilk
• 1 Tbsp grated orange rind can substitute 1 tsp orange extract
• 1 c chopped nuts pecans
• 1 8 oz pkg dates chopped

Directions

1. Pour into greased and floured tube pan
2. Bake at 325 for 1 12 hours
3. While hot punch many holes with ice pick
4. Pour glaze over cake
5. Let stand several hours before serving
